Bay Area Homeless Mane Event Fundraiser Set

Bay Area Homeless Mane Event Fundraiser Set
Sponsored by Community Auto Group, the Bay Area Homeless Services annual “Mane Event” fundraiser is set for Saturday February 21, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston in Baytown.
The “Mane Event” is a much-anticipated event every year, with the highlight of the evening being a roast. This year, BAHS is proud to feature a roast of community icon Steve Daniele. BAHS will also be honoring PGAL Architects for their contributions to the success of BAHS and its current capital project which replaces the men’s dormitory and the administration building and adds a commons building to the campus.
Founded in 1982, Bay Area Homeless Services is the only full-service homeless shelter serving East Harris, Chambers, and Liberty counties, a service area of over 2100 square miles. Consisting of a men’s dormitory, a women’s dormitory, and the Britton-Fuller Family Center, BAHS provides individuals and families an opportunity to recover from financial and personal hardships and once again be self-sufficient.
“We all have a pre-conceived notion of what homelessness looks like” says Board President Jim Wadzinski. “We generally equate it with a box under a bridge, with someone in it either unable or unwilling to find a job. That isn’t really true in most cases. You’d be amazed at the number of clients we serve that are actually employed but have encountered circumstances that they were either unable or ill-equipped to deal with. We help them get back on their feet and to become self-reliant once again.”
